Options for Installing Drywall:

1 The common thicknesses.
2 The average ceiling height. Smaller dimension ceilings are figured at lower heights, up to 10 to 12 foot. Surfaces broader than 50 ft can go up to 16 foot. Due to practicality and also while scaling for realistic price increases based on greater efforts for setup such as by work platform or scaffold.
3 The typical size sheets applied on ceilingas are 4' X 8' dimension and 4x12 wherever possible to minimize seams. But of note is that a large percentage of installers don't optimize the drywall layout, along with the fact that many longer size sheets are special order only (that does act to eliminate taping and mudding of some seams).

Inclusions and Exclusions

Includes few if any off-angles (though many installers set with flex-beads which accomodate these non-right angles). Figures joists 48" on center though 54" could incur a slight surcharge of not more than 10% to 12%. Included is trip time, possible multiple visits to the same project for moderate to larger size installations. NOTE: exceptions of no trip times exist among smaller patch dimensions and these assume a belonging to a larger, total project size.

Labor, Materials and Supplies notes:

  • The labor component charged to the project only.
  • Includes all labor necessary for the completion of project from setup and providing any necessary staging and/or scaffolding equipment including drywall hoist.
  • Includes all materials and supplies from hanging, to beading and taping and mudding seams on to sanding off the final surface. This includes screws, nails and mudding compound.
  • Efforts for dust containment may add to this total figure certainly where drywall is being placed inside existing structures.
  • Final cleanup and disposal of waste is allocated within these amounts.
  • Grade of supplies and materials are rated at moderate and above, and this may include the application of 'low dust' all purpose compound atop drywall.
