Cost to Install Drywall
Our following drywall installation cost for 2024 calculator allows you to change variables & refigure.
Includes all labor, materials and supplies needed for performing the work per
below based on entered dimensions. Results are approximations based on drywall
installations in the United States. Total cost sums exclude any taxes charged
for both materials and labor amounts.
Options for Installing Drywall:
1 The common thicknesses.
2 The typical size sheet used is 4' X 8' dimension. For areas taller
than 8 foot, 9' sheets and greater may be put up. But of note is that a large percentage of installers don't optimize
the drywall layout, along with the fact that many longer size sheets are special order only
(that does act to eliminate taping and mudding of some seams).
Inclusions and Exclusions
Included are all areas besides extended height work, accounting for few if any off-angles (though many installers set with flex-beads which accomodate these non-right angles). Excluded
is any wallboard bending methods applied for achieving a curving surface.
Labor, Materials and Supplies notes:
The labor component charged to the project only.
Includes all labor necessary for the completion of project
from setup and providing any necessary staging and/or scaffolding equipment.
Includes all materials and supplies from hanging, to beading and taping
and mudding seams on to sanding off the final surface. This includes screws, nails and mudding compound.
Efforts for dust containment may add to this total figure certainly where drywall is being placed inside existing structures.
Final cleanup and disposal of waste is allocated within these amounts.
Grade of supplies and materials are rated at moderate and above, and this may include the application of 'low dust'
all purpose compound atop drywall.
Amounts for the labor portion per specific geographic locales may fluctuate based
on the particular zip code by 15% and greater. Especially for certain metropolitan areas.
