Includes all labor, materials and supplies needed for installing the steel door on the garage as per below. The results are across-the-board approximations only. They are not meant to mimic actual price quotations. Total cost sums exclude any taxes charged for both materials and labor amounts.

Note on insulation - Doors exhibiting the greater R-values for insulating strength are found among the higher amounts while lesser R-value doors are to the left.

Inclusions and Exclusions


Covers supplying all materials and labor needed to complete the install of the garage door. The numbers favor overhead models sliding on tracks over any swing/hinged units.

Excluded are costs for any extra decorative hardware, added insulation, for custom lites and arches. All of which will bump the price.

Labor, Materials and Supplies notes:

  • The labor component charged to the project only.
  • Includes completion of the door project from dimensioning & setup, mounting the rollers and hanging tracks, springs, and any cutting, fitting and adjusting while supplying the necessary screws and fasteners. The mounting of weatherstrip and any connected trim carpentry along with threshold seal/gasket, and, the application of silicone or other sealing compounds is also included.
  • Amounts for the labor portion may fluctuate based on the particular zip code by 15% and greater as can the metal door units themselves.

  • Grade of doors, supplies and materials are rated at builders quality on up. Upgrades for customization will increase the bill.
